Mangaluru: Mount Carmel Central School celebrates Nativity Feast

Mangaluru, Sep 7: Mount Carmel Central School celebrated the birthday of Mother Mary on September 7 with devotion and faith.

The programme for the seniors was presented by class VIII A, B, and C. It began with a meaningful prayer service.

The audience were welcomed with a traditional welcome dance. The significance of Nativity feast, Onam, Ganesh chathurthi and Moharram was highlighted with a PowerPoint presentation.

Mother Mary’s birth was highlighted with a meaningful skit.

The boys danced to the tunes of harvest song and the girls expressed their happiness through dance movements and concluded their dance by admiring and hailing Mother Mary.

A song on women empowerment and a Konkani celebration song were sung by the students.

The chief guest teacher Shaila Crasta addressed the audience, congratulated the students for their wonderful performance. She advised the students to imbibe the virtues of Mother Mary specially purity, obedience and compassion in their lives.

Thaneesha, Neha and Seona compered the programme, Lenoie welcomed the gathering and Lionel proposed the vote of thanks.

The primary section celebrated the Nativity of Mother Mary with great fervor on Sept 6th. The celebration commenced with the students, staff and parents partaking in the Holy Eucharist. Jessica and Aaron of class II welcomed the gathering.

Nursery kids welcomed the chief guest Jennifer Mendes with a colourful dance followed by offering a plant sapling as a token of love. The farmers were remembered for their toil by a vibrant suggi dance.

The month of September being dedicated to different harvest festivals, students of UKG danced vibrantly showcasing the rich culture of Kerala.

LKG kids paid a fitting tribute to all their teachers by their majestic moves. Harvest festival also being a family festival and a day of thanksgiving, students of class II presented the significance of a family by music and movement.

It was very heartwarming to see the little ones offer flowers to Mother Mary to the tune of Sakkad Sangatha Melya.

The chief guest in her message highlighted the significance of the feast and urged the students to value their families and bounties of nature and wished everyone a blessed feast.

At the end of the programme there was an aura of joy and togetherness. Advaith of class II proposed the vote of thanks.
