Mangaluru: St Agnes College celebrates jubilant Onam

Mangaluru, Sep 8: St Agnes College celebrated Onam with grand fervour on September 7.

The programme began with mass entry of students with muthukuda and background music. They all gathered in front of the college office where a beautiful floral carpet was made. The programme was officially inaugurated by the principal of the college, Sr Dr Jeswina AC who lit the traditional lamp and wished the gathering. The programme was initiated with a prayer song.

A breathtaking performance by the Malyali students who performed traditional Keralite items like margamkali and Thiruvathira followed. The celebrations came to an end with a mass dance.



A traditional day programme was then held in the auditorium. Students from various streams presented dance forms of the different states of India. The students showcased the diverse cultures of the country through a dance, skit and a fashion show.

Onam celebration of the academic year 2019-20 thus become one of the memorable events in the recent history of the college.
