MP govt to provide utensils to tribal families


Jhabua, Sep 8 (IANS): Under the Chief Minister's Welfare scheme, the Kamal Nath-led government in Madhya Pradesh will be providing utensils to tribal families of 218 villages of Jhabua district.

The utensils provided by the government will be available in the villages itself and the tribal families can use them free of cost.

"The tribal families of the state won't have to take the utensils on rent for their mass events. The state government has started ‘Mukhymantri Madad Yojana' to provide assistant to the tribals," Tribal Affairs Minister Omkar Singh Markam said on Saturday.

Markam said the tribal families will also be provided rice or wheat on child birth and death of a family member. The assistance under the ‘Kanya Vivah Yojana' has also been given a boost, the allocation has been increased from Rs 25,000 to Rs 51,000.

The Tribal Welfare Department will take up the work of providing Aadhaar cards in tribal areas. The infrastructure development in these areas will also be fast paced, he added.
