Udupi: Nirmala English Medium School Brahmavara celebrates Teacher's Day

Udupi, Sep 8: The mantra, "Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwaraha, Gurusakshath Para Brahma, Tasmai Shree Guruve Namaha," states that a Guru is Brahma creator of knowledge, a Guru is Vishnu who sustains knowledge and a Guru is also Shiva the destroyer of the darkness of ignorance. We salute such a Guru.

The birthday of Bharat Ratna award recipient Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, first vice-president and the second president of India is celebrated as teacher's day, every year throughout the country. It is celebrated to mark the contribution made by the teachers to the society. Teacher’s day is the day to express love and heartfelt gratitude towards the teachers who have given new meaning to an individual's life.

Nirmala English Medium School Brahmavar celebrated teacher's day in the school auditorium on September 5 at 2.00 pm. Jeevan of class 8 welcomed the gathering. Our correspondent, Fr Victor Fernandes, Fr H M Joslie D’Silva, Fr Arther Menezes, and all teaching and non-teaching staff along with PE teachers were present. Students offered flowers to the teachers and sought their blessings. The correspondent along with all the staff offered floral homage to the portrait of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

The students entertained the teachers with cultural programmes and various other games. At the end of the programme, sweets were distributed to the students.

Sagar Jogi of class 7 proposed the vote of thanks, the whole programme was anchored by Deepthi of class 10. The programme concluded with National Anthem at 4.00 pm.
