Mangaluru: Vikaas College celebrates World Physiotherapy Day

Mangaluru, Sep 10: Vikaas College of Physiotherapy celebrated World Physiotherapy Day Monday, September 9 in college Premises.

Symposium was conducted by the students for the students Parthasarathi J Palemar, coordinator, Vikaas Group of Colleges, Dr Ajay Thakur, principal, Vikaas College of Physiotherapy, faculties and BPT students were present for the programme.

Dr Rakesh Krishna Associate professor, Vikaas College of Physiotherapy, welcomed the gathering, gave introduction about programme, Dr Ajay Thakur, gave speech over the role of physiotherapist in society. Pratiksha Hegde, intern, Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy, and Flavia, final year BPT student from Srinivas College of Physiotherapy, were the student representative speakers. They spoke on the theme ‘World without Physiotherapist’. Second year BPT students of Vikaas College of physiotherapy, Jayashri, Sanjana, and Hrishikesh performed skit on importance of Physiotherapy.

Certificate and cash award of Rs 2000 was given to Pratiksha Hegde by Parthasarathi palemar and Dr Ajay Thakur, along with a certificate, cash award of Rs 1,000 was given to Flavia as a token of gratitude and for her appreciable skills. Dr Rakesh Krishna delivered vote of thanks. The programme concluded with lunch.
