Buchanan Denies Taking Swipe at Indian Cricketers

New Delhi, July 9 (IANS): Former Australian cricket coach, John Buchanan has strongly denied taking a swipe at Indian cricketers in his just released book 'The Future of Cricket: The Rise of Twenty20'.

Buchanan said he bore no malice towards anybody and his comments in the book were taken out of context.

“You have to read the entire book to understand the meaning. It has been quoted out of context," Buchanan told Indian television channels.

Buchanan has reportedly written in his book that Sunil Gavaskar "is blinkered by bias and tradition."

He also wrote that "Yuvraj (Singh) tries to be modern-day Ganguly," and raised doubts about Harbhajan Singh's action, saying that the Turbanator "camouflages his action".

Buchanan was in the eye of storm as coach of Kolkata Knight Riders this season, and parted ways after the IPL team's poor showing in South Africa.
