Mangaluru, Sep 13: Mangaluru Lawyers Association members have expressed satisfaction on the stay order issued on Tulu movie ‘Girgit’.

Addressing a press meet on Thursday, September 12, Mangaluru Lawyers Association chief secretary H V Raghavendra warned that lawyers will severely protest against movies that showcase legal community and legal system in a derogatory manner.

Senior lawyer M P Shenoy had argued in favour of the Bar Association in the court. Junior civil judge Harish who heard the arguments ordered for a stay.

A press release from Mangalore Bar Association which was released earlier in the day said, "An injunction order has been passed against the Tulu movie Girgit for the derogatory, defamatory statements against the advocates and for the mockery of the judicial system of the nation. The injunction order has been passed by the Principal civil judge, DK Mangalore in O. S 1152/2019.”

Senior lawyer M P Shenoy, Association president N Narasimha Hegde, vice president Jinendra Kumar, joint secretary Sharmila, treasurer Aruna B P and executive committee members were present for the press meet.

    Very true. There are so many movies which insults other professions , that dinn stop. Now that the movie is making crores , jealous ppl trying to mint money from here. There were many previous movies with vulgur languages used against women or sickening movies ,that time nobody cared.. Girgit is far more better than movies previously made.. some conspiracy going on to stop the film as its making huge waves .. creating history..

    What about Sarakari hiriya pratamika shale kasargod movie. Ananthnag sir did the role of lawyer which has hilarious comedy over lawyers . This is pure jealousy of Girgits success. Shame on Mangaluru lawyer association

    Wat about movies were other professionals are insulted like Police, IAS, Teachers or any other.. Are there no movies running over years.. Just a publicity stunt I feel or over smart advocates with no work..

    Misuse of power in hand. Use it where it's needed in social benefit.
