Estranged Wife, Friend held for Murdering Delhi Businessman

New Delhi, July 10 (IANS):  A 29-year-old woman and her male friend were arrested Friday for stabbing to death her businessman husband in the capital, police said.

Sumit Kaur and Puneet confessed to killing Jagmohan Singh Kohli late Wednesday night at his Rajouri Garden residence in west Delhi, a police officer said.

Kaur had earlier told police that Kohli, 32, owner of a rubber factory, was stabbed to death by four men after he refused to give them Rs.400,000.

Kohli's brother, however, had alleged the involvement of his estranged wife in the murder.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Sharad Agarwal said: "The wife and her close friend stabbed Kohli to death and later said that he was killed by unknown assailants."

Agarwal said Kohli's body had multiple stab marks and a cloth was tied around his neck.

Kohli and his wife were staying separately for the last few months. Kaur returned home a day before the murder.
