Imran vows to 'fight Kashmiris' case' at UNGA

Muzaffarabad, Sep 13 (IANS): Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday vowed "to fight the case of oppressed people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir" at the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), saying he will act as their ambassador before the world and will not disappoint them.

He made the comments while addressing a massive public gathering in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir's (PoK) capital Muzaffarabad to "send the world a message regarding the military curfew imposed in Indian occupied Kashmir", Geo News reported.

Calling the Kashmir situation a "humanitarian crisis", the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief said that even the EU and British Parliament took up the issue.

"Today Kashmir has been internationalized. The UN Security Council held a meeting on Kashmir issue for the first time in 50 years. The EU, for the first time, said that the Kashmir issue should be resolved as per UN resolutions. The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation also said that India should lift curfew in Kashmir.

"More than 40 MPs in Britain raised the Kashmir issue. I am happy that US senators wrote a letter to President Donald Trump and urged him to intervene in the matter.

"The reason for me becoming an ambassador of Kashmiri people is that I am a Pakistani, a Muslim and a human... Kashmir issue today is a humanitarian problem.

"I am going to the UN General Assembly in New York and I will not disappoint the Kashmiri people," said Khan.

After India scrapped its Constitution's Articles 370 and 35A, which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, and divided the state into two union territories, Islamabad has been crying foul over New Delhi's move and continuously trying to highlight the issue on a global level.

Criticizing the Narendra Modi-led government in India, Khan said that "no matter how much violence is inflicted by the Indian Prime Minister it will not yield any success in the occupied valley".

He claimed that Modi was "pushing people towards extremism and peddling the agenda of RSS, which believes that only Hindus should reside in India".

Khan said that every Muslim around the world "was witnessing what brutalities being committed by the Indian fascist regime in occupied Kashmir", and added that the Indian Prime Minister was "provoking people" to go for extremism.

"Pakistanis are standing with the people of Kashmir… this nation will fight till the end," said the cricketer-turned-politician.

A number of celebrities including Shehzad Roy, Faakhir Mehmood, Javaid Shaikh, Humayun Saeed and former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi then riled up the crowd. Faakhir and Sahir Ali Bagga also performed at the rally.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, addressing the large gathering earlier, said that while "residents of Azad Jammu and Kashmir have access to news and Internet, occupied Kashmir was under a lockdown and a communications blackout".

He "challenged" the Indian Prime Minister to hold a rally like the one held in Muzaffarabad and address the residents of Srinagar.

Senator Faisal Javed, Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak and Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid were in attendance, among others.

Imran STOP wasting everyone' s time and poking your nose on issues relating to other countries instead concentrate on the main issues facing your bankrupt country. Start by giving freedom and human rights to your very own people living in your country. Here’s is what you should do immediately.

    1. Withdraw your forces from PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) this is Indian land and take by your country using military force.

You frequently talk about UN resolutions on Kashmir, there were many UN resolutions on Kashmir. However, UN resolution 370 on Kashmir asks Pakistan to withdraw its troops from Kashmir which they recognize as Indian land or better know as PoK, and India should take control of the whole of Kashmir and have its military presence there was not honored by Pakistan and till today the have their armies presence. Second, ALL disputes should be settled bilaterally in a friendly way, but Pakistan continues with the narrative on Jihad by sending terrorists across the border.

    2. Give the Balochi's their independence by giving them their homeland they call Balochistan.

    3. Give the Sindhi's their independence by them their homeland they call Sindhudesh.

    4. Give the Mohajir's (Indian Muslims who migrated to Pakistan) equal rights.

    5. Take the stranded Bihari's who are in Bangladesh who claim they are Pakistani's back to Pakistan. They are currently living in squalid camps refusing to accept Bangladeshi citizenship and waiting to be repatriated.

    6. Repeal and cancel the country's blasphemy laws that mainly target minorities and liberal Muslims. There are more than 200 people in jail right now, awaiting the death penalty.

    7. Release all political opponents who are in jail, right now the entire opposition is in jail, the only one who is not in jail is Parvez Musharraf, and that is because he is not in Pakistan living in exile overseas.

    8. Stop the forced conversion of Hindu and Christian Girls.

DO ALL OF THE ABOVE AND THEN TALK WITH RESPECT, YOU ARE TALKING TO INDIA.

Diplomatic wars do not achieve this sort of issues. Kashmiri people have the sole right to the land not India, not Pakistan.
Any abrogation by India is constitutionally illegal. India has overstepped the constitutional requirements as stated in Art 370.

This is to be disputed internationally and UN and theInternational court of justice.

No body including Islamic organisation, EU and UN has right to interfere with J&K internal matters except Kashmiris themselves in India. BJP in the centre played a foul game with Kashmiris. First BJP arrested all political leaders who were running the state assembly then brought in presidential rule and appointed its own governor then abrogated article 370 by presidential order. This procedure itself is against the constitution to revoke any article. BJP has not taken the people of Kashmir into confidence means did not propose this issue in the state assembly and in the parliament for vote but unilaterally abrogated the article which itself is illegal. It would have been a boost for the govt if had done by people's consent.
