After bizarre wedding, frogs divorced to stop rains

Bhopal, Sep 14: In a bizarre incident, two frogs which were ‘married’ in Madhya Pradesh a few months back are now being ‘divorced’.

The frogs were married as part of an unusual ritual to appease Lord Indra and bless the state with rains. The frogs were married on July 19. Post the ritual, it rained incessantly and caused flooding and also led to crop loss.

Om Shakti Shiv Mandal which had organised the wedding of the amphibian couple decided to divorce the ‘newly-weds’ in an attempt to get Gods to recede the rain.

A similar frog wedding was conducted in Udupi.

    Before these frogs were married, the male was a very happy creature jumping one female to other and he was married by the stupid humans, he started cursing resulting in heavy rains. Now the frog couple got divorced, both partners will curse even more which may result in droughts in coming days. Next will be pick two donkeys and get them married to shoo off the curse.
    Height of stupidity.......the world and science community must be laughing at our people... One side we are sending moon missions and the other side getting fogs married and divorsing frogs for rains. What a idea Sirjee....!!!

    Please don't make it public to be least - the world is confused whether to laugh at this superstition or to be at awe for Chandrayaan-2

    Did they keep the frog couple in captivity so it could be divorced when the need arisen ?? Brainless people - destroying the forest, as a result the rains become scarce, and when it does rain, the water runs away to create floods because it falls on plain land with no roots to direct it down into the ground.

    People fear even giving their opinion, because same illiterates call those who differ, to be anti-nationals

    Dear Desh Bhakth, You say foolish people destroying the forest. OK. but do you know why the deforestation takes place? The forests are economically exploited for various uses. can we cut down the usage of wood just like the plan with plastic? is it possible? Is it practical? The wood are needed for housing, papers, firewood, industrial uses etc. Forests get cleared for road widening, new Roads etc. Can we do without new Roads? When there is a need it is very difficult to stop this. Just imagine the demand for housing, arable Land for food crops when the human population keeps growing.

    I can give a practical suggestion and that is reduce the existing population by half and thereby the needs for Housing will reduce by half, the paper demand will be reduced by half, the carbon consumption will reduce by half. pollution will reduce by half. The equilibrium between species which was lost may be regained to some extent by this measure. Will you help in spreading this message. PM has already talked on this issue. Is it not good that we cooperate with the PM on this?shall we together do this so that resources are not over consumed and there are enough resources for the future generations. sadly many people will indulge in cliches on forest depletion but will not try to address with practical steps. They will only get entrapped in religion and politics.
