Former AP Assembly speaker Kodela Siva Prasada commits suicide

Hyderabad, Sep 16: Former Andhra Pradesh Assembly speaker and TDP leader Kodela Siva Prasada has committed suicide by hanging in his Hyderabad residence.
 
The speaker was 72 when he passed away on Monday morning. He was immediately taken to the Basava Tarakrama Hospital where moments later he was pronounced dead.
 
Kodela Siva Prasad and his family were accused of corruption and have several cases registered against them.

Telangana BJP spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao has stated the forced death a testimony to the ongoing bitter politics in Andhra Pradesh.

Kodela was a six-time MLA who also served as a speaker at the Andhra Assembly from 2014 till 2019.
