Mangaluru, Sep 18: The blessed morn of September 18 commenced with a forty-five minute meditation wherein the teachers of Mount Carmel Central School went on an inward journey in silence to meet with the divinity within the core of their hearts. It was a rejuvenating and refreshing time for all.
The speaker of the day, Fr Rupesh Madtha, at the outset, shared from his personal experiences with a great deal of humour, how a teacher can make or mar a child’s life. He further mentioned the growing demands of the young generation and suggested ways and means of how, as teachers, we ought to be alert, affirmative and affectionate in our observation and guidance. He spoke of instilling wisdom along with knowledge to the students, which in turn, could better equip them to cope with society and its demands.
The post lunch topic, 'Stress' was certainly not stressful. Au contraire, he mentioned one should know what causes stress. He gave a few strategies on stress management, namely to be content, not to be perfect and above all, to turn to God in our brokenness. Fr Madtha advised the teachers to be relaxed and happy and to be in constant union with God. Father shared in his talk, that the best way to handle children was to be democratic, not authoritative or permissive.
From all the inferences shared by Fr Madtha and the forty-five minute morning meditation, guided by Sr Carissima AC, the teachers felt strengthened spiritually, professionally and emotionally. The message given by Father was that one should wait for God’s own time and seek His will in all things.
The day culminated in an hour of adoration. As the teachers dispersed, their faces were radiant with joy, peace and tranquility.
