After Houston, PM Modi reaches New York

New York, Sep 23 (IANS): After his hugely successful Houston visit with the Howdy Modi event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in New York on the second leg of his US visit that will see him address the UN General Assembly and the session on Climate Change.

"Lending India's voice to the global discourse PM @narendramodi arrives in #NYC for #UNGA74. PM will be participating in sessions on Climate Change, SDG, and universal health among others and will meet India's various regional/multilateral partners," the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

The Prime Minister addressed the Howdy Modi event, attended by 50,000-strong Indian America audience, along with US President Donald Trump.

    What a shame !! Its such a dismal situation back in India, and our PM is touring the US fooling people of India, majority of them who do not even have the basic necessities in life. Do you think the crowd which turned up to meet him understood the hidden motives of his trip !! I'm 100% sure that the majority of the people who turned up must have come to either get entertained for free or had some personal benefit in terms of some earning opportunity. But what they don't understand is how big a loss it is in the bargain when they attend such events, which is only to brainwash the masses, for publicity and vote bank. How can India prosper when we have absolutely unqualified politicians holding positions of power ? A defense Minister becomes a Finance Minister overnight ? I find this absurd and rubbish. Let us think about how can we change this before talking about Climate Change , etc , etc.
