Imran to raise Kashmir during meet with Trump


New York, Sep 23 (IANS): Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is set to meet US President Donald Trump on Monday in New York ahead of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly that opens here on September 24.

Khan is expected to discuss the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the Afghan peace process with the US President.

The meeting between the two, following their July 22 meeting in the White House, comes in the aftermath of the hugely successful 'Howdy, Modi!' event held in Houston on Sunday in which the Trump shared the stage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to his Monday schedule, Khan will also have an informal meeting with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson over breakfast.

He is also scheduled to meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Switzerland President Ueli Maurer, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, the Chinese Foreign Minister and the President of the World Bank on Monday.

Khan will also address the Council on Foreign Relations.
