Sensex up 380 points as US hints at trade-war resolution


Mumbai, Sep 26 (IANS): The key Indian equity indices opened on a positive note on Thursday with the BSE Sensex trading over 380 points.

The domestic market traded in line with the Asian markets as they rose in hopes of a resolution of the prolonged US-China trade war. US President Donald Trump on Wednesday said a deal could happen sooner than people think to end the trade tensions with China.

At 9.49 a.m., the Sensex was trading at 38,978.06, higher by 384.54 points or 1 per cent from the previous close of 38,593.52.

It had opened at 38,700.48 and touched an intra-day high 39,008.83 and a low of 38,676.11 points.

The Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange was trading at 11,563.15, higher by 122.95 points or 1.07 per cent from the its previous close.
