DLF Golf and Country Club to host APGS 2019

Gurugram, Sep 26 (IANS): Supported by the Ministry of Tourism, DLF5 is going to host the 13th Asia Pacific Golf Summit (APGS 2019) at the DLF Golf and Country Club in November this year. It is for the first time that APGS will be hosted in India. The three day event will commence on November 4 and culminate on November 6.

The summit will be a huge networking opportunity for all stakeholders, investors, golf companies, tourism fraternity and sponsors.

"We have considered India as a possible venue since 2012 and are delighted that it's finally happening in a nation as vast and diverse as India. We believe that we have a venue and a country that is going to lead the thrust and growth of golf in Asia and together with China and the rest of Asia, we will see a whole new world centre for golf emerge in the not too distant future," said Mike Sebastian, Chief Executive Officer of the Asia Pacific Golf Group, the owner and producer of APGS.

The theme for APGS 2019 will be centred around "A 5G - Mindset For Golf's Future".

India is already a force especially in professional golf with the likes of Jeev Milkha Singh and Arjun Atwal who took Indian golf to the world stage. Young players like Shubhankar Sharma and Anirban Lahiri are bringing golf to the youth.
