Mangaluru, Sep 26: Sahyadri College will be organizing a one-day IT Quiz-Chanakya 2019 on September 28 at Sahyadri campus Adyar.
This competition will be open to all graduate and postgraduate students of various colleges and universities in Karnataka. The competition will provide a unique and exciting platform to refresh the students' knowledge in the field of Information Technology. Winners will be provided exciting cash prizes and other attractive goodies from various sponsors of the event. The programme helps young minds to explore themselves in the field of information and technology.
The technical fest plays an important role in the college curriculum. It is one such event where young brains get to showcase their skills and compete with others to find the best. A quiz is a type of game or mind-sport, where the players as individuals or teams attempt to answer questions accurately. In the field of Information Technology context, a quiz also serves the purpose of a brief assessment to gauge the skills, abilities and knowledge of the students. In this regard, the department of Computer Science initiated this Chanakya-IT-Quiz to pool and recognize young technocrats across Karnataka.

About CS department
The department of Computer Science & Engineering started in the year 2007 with an intake of 60 and is a fast-growing discipline, full of rigorous practical analysis. The department is planning to grow in supersonic speed as far as technical expertise; faculty strength, modern teaching aids, browsing facilities etc are concerned. The department also interacts with industries on a regularly basis to develop capabilities in the latest technologies.
The department has set up state of the art laboratories with computing facilities and peripheral devices. The department has an intake of 180 students in UG (BE) category. With highly talented faculty, the department boasts of a unique mode of learning, one that uses advanced aids for teaching.
The faculty and students are actively involved in intense interactions that help the students gain practical exposure on Big Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Internet of Things and Mobile Tech, much before they are part of the IT industry.
