Priyanka targets UP govt on Banda rape

New Delhi, Sep 26 (IANS): Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday slammed the Uttar Pradesh government over a rape incident in Banda.

She tweeted about alleged police apathy after the rape survivor in Banda was asked to produce two witnesses.

"It is clear that UP police is insensitive and BJP govt in the state is against women. What is this that police is asking for two witnesses from a rape survivor?" she tweeted.

In a viral video, the victim has alleged that police had told her to produce two witnesses to register her case.

Priyanka had earlier criticised the UP police and alleged that former Union minister and rape accused Chinmayanand is being shielded by the BJP.
