'Israel-China cooperation to benefit both countries'


Jerusalem, Sep 27 (IANS): The cooperation between Israel and China tallies with the interests of the people from both countries, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin has said.

Rivlin said that the cooperation between Israel and China could also benefit the whole world, when he met Chinese Ambassador to Israel Zhan Yongxin, Xinhua news agency reported on Thursday.

The Israeli President also congratulated the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China on behalf of the Israeli government.

China has made eye-catching achievements and the Chinese society has gained enormous changes in the past 70 years, while the living standards of the Chinese people have been greatly improved, said Rivlin.

The relations between Israel and China have grown rapidly in recent years. Chinese companies have participated in the construction of some infrastructure projects in Israel, which is an important contribution to the social development of Israel, said the Israeli President.

During the meeting, Zhan said the political mutual trust between China and Israel has been further enhanced, practical cooperation is flourishing and people-people relations are growing on a fast track as well.

Zhan added that China is willing to work together with Israel to make more efforts to push forward the further development of the relations between China and Israel.
