New Delhi, Sep 27: In one of the public functions conducted by AIMIM, president of the organization Owaisi spoke on Trump's recent comment on Modi. Earlier in the week, US President Donald Trump had called PM Modi 'Father of the Nation' for bringing Indians together. Owaisi asserted that Modi did not make any attempt to correct Trump, as Mahatma Gandhi is the one who is fondly referred by that term of endearment.
Owaisi claimed that the Sangha Parivar was conveniently trying to sideline Gandhi by bringing PM Modi to the forefront. If Indians fail to understand the motive of the nationalist party, Muslims and other minorities will soon have to leave India.
However, this does not mean that minorities or the Muslim community must rely on Congress. Owaisi stated that Congress was the one which exploited Muslims for over 70 years. According to him, Congress hides behind the illusion of being a secular party and Muslim youths must understand the party's ulterior motives.
Owaisi then took a reference of the 2019 election where Rahul lost in his home constituency but won in Wayanad, Kerala. The victory was due to the 35% Muslims who voted for him. "How can you accept such a person as your leader? Don't expect anything from Congress which has become a sinking boat. Captain of the ship has fallen into the sea," Owaisi said.
