Mangaluru: Mangalore University hosts special lecture on 'Law and Social Work' for MSW students

Mangaluru, Sep 28: A vibrant and memorable special lecture on 'Law and Social Work' was organized by the department of Post Graduate Studies & Research in Social Work, Mangalore University for the MSW students in the MSW department, Humanities block on September 27.

The special lecture was delivered by Pradeep B S, assistant professor, department of Post Graduate Studies & Research in Social Work and special officer of Registrar Evaluation, Davangere University.

Dr Yashswini B, assistant professor, department of Post Graduate Studies & Research in Social Work, Mangalore University introduced the speaker and the topic of the lecture to the students.

In his lecture, Pradeep B S discussed the legal aspects of Social Work Practice, such as understanding the general relationship between the justice system and social work, how law influences social work in different ways across and within client groups.

He interacted with the students and discussed 'Ethical Skill Development based on Buddhist Philosophy'. Pradeep also sensitized the participants with exclusive examples and challenges in Law and Social Work at large concerning different mythologies.

The lecture was benefited by more than 90 participants including MSW students, research scholars and faculty members.
