Kashmir, Sep 28: Day time restrictions from 22 districts in Jammu and Kashmir were removed on Saturday. The Kashmir valley was subjected to a long curfew from August 5 after the abrogation of Art 370 was announced. The restrictions were removed in phases as and when the situation developed.

However, with the situation now improved, jurisdictions in 105 police stations have relaxed, confirmed DGP of Jammu and Kashmir, Dilbag Singh.

In a bid to prevent protests triggered by gatherings at mosques and shrines, sensitive areas were under curfew every Friday. Along with restrictions on the general public, top-level politicians - Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti were either detained or under house arrest.

On Saturday, the government allowed local shops and schools to open up in a way to bring normalcy in the valley.
