Washington, Oct 1: US Congresswoman of Democratic Party, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has raised voice against the ill-treatment of the Kashmiris post the abrogation of Art 370.
Cortez retweeted a user's post where she is participating in a 'solidarity march.' The tweet reads, "We stand for the basic human dignity of Kashmiris & support democracy, equality and human rights for all - including the most vulnerable. Reports of violence & torture are extremely concerning, and the blockade from communication and life-saving medical care must end.
Upon closer understanding, the user whose messages were retweeted by Cortez has a history of propagating anti-Indian views. The user frequently uses hashtags such as - #IstandwithImran, #StandwithKashmir and #LetKashmirSpeak.

Although India has reiterated several times that the affairs connected with Art 370 are an internal matter, Pakistan has left no stone unturned to internationalize the issue. The Pak PM has tried to pressure the Indian govt to either reinstate the special status or brace themselves for a nuclear war. Besides, Pak has received little to no support on the global platform.
Refuting the claims regarding lack of medical care, Srinagar IAS officer, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary stated that medical services were very much active in the area. He also stated that a total of 3,442 surgeries took place after August 5.
Choudhary expressed regret over the false messages circulated by media in New Delhi, Washington and London. One such tweet by the officer reads, "Every time I read an alleged health crisis story from some Delhi, London and Washington, that chills my spine. Then I go out personally to find out the truth. Difficulties not denied but truth has to be upheld."
