Mumbai, Oct 1: Tulu Kannadigas are elected for management board of Sharadashrama Vidyamandir Dadar, one of the prestigious educational institutes in the city for the period 2019-2022.
John D’Silva Karkala, economic scholar who had established four cooperative banks in Mumbai and known as the father of cooperative sector is elected government council member. Maurice Pinto Belman and Gajendra Shetty are the others who are elected.
John D’Silva served in the institute for the last ten years while Maurice Pinto is active in it for the last 32 years. Trustee, secretary Gajendra Shetty Bajpe is in it for the last five years and indulged as joint secretary at present.

Sharadashram Vidyamandir established on June 9, 1949 is involved in education for the last seven decades providing education with excellent facilities for lower class and backward class children.
It runs 13 schools and colleges including industrial training centre, high schools, Montessori, junior college, girl’s high school, J R College of Science, Marathi Primary School, Balakmandir, kindergarten etc.
Nearly 300 expert teachers and non-teaching staff are employed in the schools. Nearly 5,500 students are benefiting here.
