AAP MLAs to audit Delhi roads physically: Kejriwal

New Delhi, Oct 1 (IANS): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that 50 Aam Aadmi Party MLAs will audit the national capital roads physically along with PWD engineers on Saturday to identify potholes and bumpy roads.

Addressing the media here on Tuesday, Kejriwal said that the Public Works Department (PWD) maintains around 1,260-kilometre roads in the city and being the national capital, it is important that city roads are in a good condition.

He said the government has made a mega plan to repair the roads and has identified 50 MLAs for the one-day audit task.

"The 1,260-kilometre stretch roads will be checked on a war footing. On Saturday, the 50 MLAs will go and check the road. Teams of two -- one MLA and one PWD engineer -- will be formed. The MLAs have to check 25-kilometre of a road on both sides. The two will travel slowly and will spot potholes and bumpy roads," Kejriwal said.

He said a software has been developed and the team can click and upload the information on the software application.

"This way, the physical audit will be done," Kejriwal said adding the spots where some work is underway will be repaired after the ongoing work is completed.

"We are hoping that by Saturday evening we will get the data. The repair for bumpy roads and potholes will be initiated immediately. This exercise will be repeated every year at least one time," the Chief Minister said.

I am sure BJP will oppose this noble move by AAP by citing some weird reasoning. BJP never does anything like this nor allow anyone doing this. BJP is only destruction and loot.
