FC Goa draw 1-1 with Real Kashmir


Panaji, Oct 2 (IANS): FC Goa and Real Kashmir played out a 1-1 draw at the Bambolim Athletic Stadium here on Tuesday.

Coro scored for FC Goa, while Bazie Armand equalised for Real Kashmir.

Sergio Lobera's men played with Coro up front, as Mourtada Fall and Carlos Pena played in defence. Mohammad Nawaz started in the goal for the home team.

Real Kashmir had a two-man forward line of Gnohere Krizo and Kallum Higginbotham, as Mason Robertson and Loveday Enyinnaya formed a centre-back partnership.

The Gaurs had an early breakthrough as Len Doungel's cross from the right win was adjudged to have been handled by a Real Kashmir player. Coro then converted the penalty to give the Gaurs an early lead.

Midway through the first half, Ahmed Jahouh could have extended FC Goa's lead but his pile-driver was saved by Lachenpa Phurba in the Real Kashmir goal.

The half ended with FC Goa leading 1-0 as Lobera made three changes after the break.

Jackichand Singh, Manvir Singh and Naveen Kumar came on for the Gaurs.

Armand equalised for Real Kashmir as his long range strike found the back of the net.

The home team almost regained the lead as Hugo Boumous and Manvir Singh almost played a 1-2 that was deflected at the last moment by Phurba. Lobera made a further seven changes including youngsters Princeton Rebello, Kingslee Fernandes, Saviour Gama and Liston Colaco as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

FC Goa play their fifth pre-season friendly against South United on October 4.
