Kejriwal, Sisodia pay tributes to Gandhi, Shastri

New Delhi, Oct 2 (IANS): To mark the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia on Wednesday paid tributes to the two leaders at their 'samadhis'.

They visited Vijay Ghat and Raj Ghat -- the places where Shastri and Gandhi were cremated and memorials stand in their honour.

While Gandhi was born on this day in 1869, former Prime Minister Shastri was born in 1904.

Remembering the two in a tweet in Hindi, Kejriwal said today is the birth anniversary of two great souls.

"Gandhi, an epitome of truth and non-violence, and Shastri, was a symbol of simplicity and honesty."
