Mangaluru: Gandhi, Shastri Jayanti celebrated, ‘Swacch Sahyadri’ held at Sahyadri campus

Mangaluru, Oct 3: The NSS unit of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management on October 2, celebrated Gandhi Jayanti, Shastri Jayanti and organized ‘Swacch Sahyadri’ as part of the event.

The speakers for the formal programme were Prof Gurusiddah, department of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Prof Dr Premanand Shenoy, department of Civil Engineering.

The programme started with a Bhajan - ‘Raghupathi Raghava Rajaram’. The dignitaries offered flowers to the portrait of Gandhiji and Shastriji. Prof Gurusiddah, while addressing the gathering, remembered his childhood days and shared some of the memorable instances. He concluded his talk with a quote from Gandhiji, 'Where there is Love, there is Life'.



Prof Dr Premanand Shenoy, department of Civil Engineering, shared his thoughts on the life story of Gandhiji and Shastriji. He also reminded the young minds, of the power of non-violence. He concluded his talk by remembering the contribution of farmers.

Dr R Srinivasa Rao Kunte, principal felicitated the programme. Shreelatha U A, AAO, concluded the programme by appreciating the efforts of NSS unit and expressed words of gratitude.
