Dharwad: Northeast monsoon takes away five lives - Three injured

Dharwad, Oct 4: North Karnataka districts, which are just now recovering after being battered by floods, are now facing the fury of northeast monsoon rain. On account of severe rain experienced in the region on Thursday October 3, five persons lost their lives.

Two sisters who had sat down to have lunch in their agricultural field after work near Kiratageri in Gadag taluk were electrocuted. Sharanamma from Ron and Susheelavva from Rajanala village in Nidagundi taluk, Vijayapura district also were killed by lightning.

Sandeep Jayappa Mellalli (6) from Hothanahalli in Hangal taluk of Haveri district lost his life after the wall at his house crashed on the family members. Three other family members were injured in this incident.
