ISWAI's flagship initiative honoured with Mahatma Awards

New Delhi, Oct 4 (IANS): For its "#StayNotOut" social awareness campaign which encourages people to adopt the habit of moderation in life, the International Spirits and Wines Association of India (ISWAI) has been conferred the 2019 Mahatma Awards for Social Good.

"I am delighted that the ‘#StayNotOut' campaign has received this prestigious award," Amrit Kiran Singh, Executive Chairman, ISWAI, said in a statement, while referring to the award presented this week.

"Such recognitions and validations will go a long way in bolstering our efforts in bringing a paradigm shift both at a socio cultural level and at policy level, creating a win-win framework for consumers, the society and the government," Singh said.

The annual Mahatma Awards are presented to individuals and organisations driving change for addressing complex social issues.

The annual award ceremony is hosted by Liveweek LLC, a social impact media company.

The #StayNotOut has already reached over 120 million people, Singh said.
