Mangaluru: State level floorball tourney inaugural held at St Agnes PU College

Mangaluru, Oct 5: The State Level Floorball Tournament jointly organised by PU Board, Karnataka and DDPUE office, Mangaluru in collaboration with St Agnes Pre-university College; DKPU Principals' Association got off to a glorious start when it was inaugurated by MLA Vedavyasa Kamath on Saturday, October 5.

Speaking on the occasion, he encouraged the 350 strong participants and stressed the role of sports in facilitating the development of a wholesome personality. He also spoke about sports as a unifying force across the country and how it opens up lucrative career avenues.

Umesh Karkera, president, DKPU College Principals' Association, Vasudev Kamath, DDPU incharge, Mangaluru, Premanath Shetty, DK Sports Co-ordinator and Ajeri, sports observer, were the guests of honour. Vasudeva Kamath exhorted the participants to give their best, inculcate in themselves the spirit of true sportsmanship, and thereby create pleasant memories.

Sr Norine DSouza, principal, introduced the dignitaries and delivered the welcome address.

The presence of Dr Sr Maria Roopa, joint secretary, St Agnes Group of Institutions, Sr Janet Sequeira, vice-principal, Ronald DSouza, PTA, vice-president, physical directors and educationists of various colleges enhanced the event. Shailaja, lecturer in Kannada compered the event.

The inaugural session concluded with the vote of thanks rendered by Jayashree Physical, director, St Agnes Pre- university College.
