Mangaluru, Oct 7: Rich tributes were paid to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhiji on the occasion of his 150th birth anniversary.
Addressing the gathering Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal of the college, said that the followers of Gandhiji are found across the world and his philosophy and ideals has relevance beyond time and space.
Prof Raghavendra Shenoy, vice principal, Prof Gurudatta N, HOD of Hindi, student representatives Preeti Mallappa Khetagoudar and K A Shanthi addressed the gathering.
Floral tributes were paid to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri also on his birth anniversary.
Balakrishna Shetty, HOD of chemistry and Rathnakumar, chief resident mentor, were present on the occasion. Vidyasharada, lecturer in Kannada, welcomed the gathering and compered the programme.
A special cleanliness drive in the campus was organised as part of Gandhi Jayanthi celebration.
