2019 most peaceful festive season for J&K: Jitendra Singh


New Delhi, Oct 7 (IANS): Lauding the efforts of paramilitary forces and the Army, Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Monday said Jammu and Kashmir witnessed the most peaceful festive season this year unlike previous recent years.

Singh's remark came during a meeting with Special Director General (North Zone) Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Zulfiqar Hasan, here at his office. During the meeting, Hasan briefed the Minister on the post-Article 370 abrogation situation in Jammu and Kashmir informing him that the situation after the August 5 decision has been normal.

Hasan said there has been "no incidence of violence and curfew" in Jammu and Kashmir, barring few restrictions. He also presented a coffee table book on the successful Amarnath Yatra, to the Minister.

The Minister complimented the paramilitary forces and Army for their contribution in the state for the last two decades and said that "this year has been the most peaceful festive season in the recent years."

Appreciating the Paramilitary force for their sacrifices in maintaining peace in the country, the Minister said that festivals such as Eid, Independence Day have been celebrated peacefully.

    His face doesn't reflect any festive mood. What festivity under curfew, house arrests and lock down. Have some sense in what you talk. You chased everybody home in hurry when people were enjoying Amarnath Yatra with a fake reason about terrorist alarm but actually you were building army around to abrogate article 370 and putting the state in emergency footing. Don't give a false impression to the world that everything is normal in Kashmir and people are happy with BJP and they will vote you no matter what. Wishful Thinking.
