Mangaluru, Oct 8: “The government does not exist in the state as it is dead. The development works have been stopped. There is total breakdown.” JD(S) leader Amarnath Shetty said.

Addressing media here on Tuesday, October 8, showing his disappointment on the state government, Amarnath Shetty said, “Government is planning to cut down the funds of MLAs and MLCs. JD(S) will be protesting against this at Bengaluru. Government is also taking measures to scrap administrative boards in the temples. Then how can we expect any development of temples? Government has kept election commission under its control and is announcing election date and postponing it as per their convenience.

“When Kumaraswamy was the chief minister, he had introduced loan waiver scheme, which has stopped now, after BJP came to power,” he said.

He also informed that JD(S) is planning field its candidates in the MCC elections.

District JDS president Mohammed Kunhi said, “Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating the leaders of opposition, but BJP should make its own leaders like Shobha Karandlaje and D V Sadananda Gowda to get grilled by ED as they are destroying the opposition.”

“Government has failed in providing compensation to the flood victims. Beltangady MLA is taking credit for the funds, which was released by the then government. Government should release white paper on the compensation and grants for the flood victims,” added Kunhi.

General secretary Praveen Chandra Jain, Vasanth Poojary, district JD(S)youth president Akshith Suvarna and others were present.
