New Delhi, Oct 10: In a bizarre incident, a 43-year-old woman has complained that she was hypnotized and molested by a delivery agent from Amazon in her Noida apartment.

The incident happened on Monday afternoon when the delivery agent, who put his name as Bhupendra Pal in the society’s entry register, reached the victim’s house to pick up few items that were to be returned. The 30-year-old agent and the victim had an argument regarding the return of the items and the accused allegedly attempted to rape the victim after hypnotising her, as reported in TOI.  

The agent reached the victim’s house at 11:20am to pick up the product, containing five small boxes, which she purchased from Amazon. Instead of collecting the entire product, the agent said he was supposed to accept only four boxes, not five, which led to an argument, said the woman in her complaint.

When the accused denied collecting all the boxes, the woman called up Amazon customer care and complained about the delivery boy. The customer care official assured that the return for all five boxes will be processed again on October 9 (Wednesday).

Though the agent went downstairs from the woman’s house after the argument, he returned within minutes and said he was willing to pick up all the five boxes. She refused to hand over her items and told him as per the customer care conversation she would only hand over her items to another agent on Wednesday.

The victim, as per her complaint, fell unconscious after the conversation, and was allegedly molested by the accused. She said she had a blackout and alleged that the delivery agent hypnotised her.

In her complaint she said, she found the accused standing in front of her with his pants down, following which she cried for help.  The victim who was alone in the house, rushed to the washroom and brought out a floor wiper with which she beat up the delivery agent, who then quick fled the spot.

The victim’s sister had called the number that the accused had written in the entry register. “When I asked him where he came from, he said that he had come from the Amazon pick-up office in Sector 58 and then disconnected,” she said as quoted by TOI.

SI Pradeep Kumar, the investigating officer in the case, said the information entered in the entry register and the man’s details were found to be correct. An FIR was lodged against Bhupendra under IPC sections 376 (rape) and 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life.

An Amazone spokesperson responded to the grave incident and said the allegations are troubling and they will take immediate action with the delivery service provider.
