Former GM executive Jaime Ardila joins Ola Electric


New Delhi, Oct 11 (IANS): Ola Electric Mobility on Friday announced the appointment of auto industry veteran and former General Motors (GM) executive Jaime Ardila as a member of its board of directors.

Ardila currently serves as the Chairman of the board at Goldman Sachs BDC Inc and is a member of the boards of Accenture PLC and Nexa Resources. The founder of Hawksbill Group, a diversified business and communications consulting firm, Ardila was the Executive Vice President and President, South America Operations, General Motors.

"Ola Electric Mobility Pvt Ltd today announced the appointment of Jaime Ardila as a member of the company's board of directors. Jaime is a veteran in the automobile industry, having spent 30 years at General Motors, where he held multiple leadership roles across the globe," the company said in a statement.

Speaking on his new appointment, Ardila said: "Mobility is going through a global transformation as we build solutions to improve air quality, make clean energy more accessible and reduce fossil fuel dependence. Ola Electric has been reimagining electric mobility for the world and has emerged as the fastest growing unicorn."

Bhavish Aggarwal, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Ola, said that Ardila's deep industry expertise and global experience will be an "invaluable" addition to the company.
