Mandya, Oct 13: In a shocking incident, deputy superintendent of police (DySP) of Srirangapatna taluk tried to commit suicide by cutting the nerves of his hands and legs.
Srirangapatna circle DySP Yoganand is the officer who tried to end his life in this fashion.
The incident took place in his residence at Baburayanakoppalu of the taluk. He collapsed at his home due to severe bleeding. The family members, who noticed his condition, got him admitted to the hospital.
Yoganand was subsequently taken to a hospital in Mysuru for higher treatment. The reason for this extreme step is not yet known.
Srirangapatna police are investigating further.
