Constable bitten by poisonous snake in UP


Bandh, Oct 14 (IANS): An on-duty constable was bitten by a venomous snake at the Superintendent of Police office in Uttar Pradesh's Bandh district on Monday, police said.

The constable has been admitted to a government hospital and administered first aid, police added.

According to the victim, Vivek Singh (27), the incident took place when he tried to open the window of an air-conditioned room of the office and was bitten by the poisonous snake hidden behind the aperture.

Police said that Singh is out of danger now.
