Mangaluru: Swachatha Abhiyaan by St Joseph Engineering College held at Navoor Village

Mangaluru, Oct 23: To mark the 150th birthday celebration of Mahatma Gandhi, the NSS Unit and Community Engagement Group of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), here, organized Swachatha Abhiyaan in the villages of Navoor gram panchayat in Bantwal taluk.

Navoor is one of the villages adopted by the institution for community service.

A total of 47 students of the NSS unit along with seven faculty members participated in the programme. Gram panchayat officials of Navoor village extended their full cooperation to the team from SJEC in conducting this programme.

On this occasion a special meeting was organized by the gram panchayat, during which Ajithanjaya Kumar, chairperson of Community Engagement Group detailed the plans and actions of the college to serve Navoor village. PDO of gram panchayat along with president and members of the village thanked the institution for conducting Swachatha Abhiyaan at their premises.
