Mangaluru, Oct 24: Young talent Gaana Bhat is all set to pursue her dream in Indian film industry.
Gaana, from USA, spent her childhood days in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu and moved back to Mangaluru during her teenage.
She did her pre-university at St Aloysius College and completed Engineering at Srinivas Institute of Technology. She started her career as an engineer in Infosys, Mysuru.
Before entering the film industry, she did a few ramp-walk shows for popular designers from Karnataka namely Jayanthi Ballal and Shilpi Choudhary. Eventually, she moved to the US on a work assignment with Apple. She is still in touch with Infosys. She also started a YouTube dance channel called ‘Desi Twist’, which now has a subscriber count of close to 54,000 with a dance view count for a video at 8 million
views.
Speaking to Daijiworld, she said, “During my stint in USA, I was blessed with a whole lot of opportunities and did several ramp walk shows, photoshoots for designers and was published in a few local fashion magazines of California namely ‘Surreal Beauty’, ‘7 Hues’, ‘Sheeba’ and on the cover page of the fashion magazine ‘IMirage’.”
Gaana started her journey with a telefilm called ‘Taxi 24/7’ directed by Nagaraj Bhat and multiple short films and web series in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and English. Few of them are ‘Sketchu’, ‘Vasantha Sameeram’, a Tamil music cover for ‘Maruvarthai Pesade’, ‘Rest In Peace’, and a cameo in Natural Star Nani’s Telugu super hit film ‘Ninnu Kori’. Her latest release was a Telugu web series for SonyLiv originals called ‘Mymarapu’ which will soon also be available in the US on YuppTv.
Gaana will make her Kannada movie debut with ‘Babru’. The film will be produced by Yuga Creations and Suman Nagarkar Production and directed by Sujay Ramiah. “I play a very different role in this movie, and the character is what interested me in taking up the role. ‘Babru’ is all set for release in a few weeks,” she says.
