Bantwal: Carmel College holds awareness programme on obesity in youth v/s balanced diet

Bantwal, Oct 24 (IANS): NSS unit of Carmel College, Modankap recently organized an awareness programme on obesity in youth v/s balanced diet as a part of ‘Poshan abhiyan' programme at the auditorium recently.

Dr Teena Stanly and Dr Afridi, interns of A J Institute of Medical Sciences Mangaluru were the resource persons.

Dr Teena Stanly enlightened the students about the causes and consequences of obesity.

Dr Afridi explained about a balanced diet and weight among youth. He also spoke about importance of physical exercise to keep the body and mind fit with various illustrations.

Principal Dr Sr Latha AC, Madhura NSS officer, Deepthi assistant NSS officer were present.

Suraj Sequeira from I BCom welcomed the gathering; Melroy proposed the vote of thanks. Thejasvi I BCom compered the programme.
