Bengaluru: 'If I was Vokkaliga, would have become minister', rues Basavaraj Horatti

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Oct 25: Veteran JD(S) leader Basavaraj Horatti, noted that the previous coalition government in Karnataka had many Vokkaliga ministers. "A couple of ministers would have vacated their positions if Deve Gowda had instructed them to do so. If I was a Vokkaliga, I would have easily become a minister. But I was sidelined as I am a Lingayat," he lamented.

Horatti, who is deemed to be a sincere politician and close to JD(S) top leadership, expressed his anger against Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy in no uncertain terms.

"During Belagavi session of the assembly, Deve Gowda called me and asked me to file nomination for the post of the chairman of the legislative council. But by the next morning, I understood that H D Kumaraswamy had rejected my name. I was purposefully denied the opportunity to become chairman of the council because of the advice of someone else," he said.

Till the manuvadis are still active in the country with the colour system, this country will not move forward. In south it is still okay, in north and west only God should help.

But we always boast about sanathana dharma, old age traditions etc. First the majority community has to come out of this caste issues.

Now on reading my comment I know some hardcore bhakts may jump on me. But this is a sad fact.
