Mangaluru: Milagres College Hampankatta BSc FND receives certification for new food products

Mangaluru, Oct 30: Innovations are important because it fosters new ideas for products and services, gives staff members a sense of job satisfaction and encourages teamwork.

As part of their academic activity, the students of BSc Food Nutrition and Dietetics (FND), Milagres College, Hampankatta, here demonstrated the application of theoretical knowledge into practice by developing new products.



For any innovation to succeed in an organization, it must be embraced by top management and supported at all levels of operation. The principal of Milagres College encouraged the students in all aspects which led to the success of this activity. As a result on June 22 the students of II FND prepared and presented new food products namely, Melon Splash, Multi Grain Chips, Palak Rose Cookies, Rapo Biscuits and Ospiria Rainbow Burst under the guidance of Mary Priscilla, Claret Dsouza, Ashwitha and Princita Dsouza from the department of FND.

The products prepared were authenticated by a well-known food industry, Viola Trading Co from Goa who certified that the products prepared were of good quality, highly acceptable sensory characteristics with health benefits and made available at affordable price.
