Konkani children's film ‘Apsara Dhara’ to be screened at KIFF

Mangaluru, Nov 1: Bengaluru-based Dr Ramesh Kamath , a gradute from Poona Film and Television Institute has delivered Konkani hits like ‘Janamana ’, ‘Aa Vai Jaa Saa’, and now his latest offering is ‘Apsara Dhara’ which deals with the subject ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’.

The story, screenplay and direction is by Dr Ramesh Kamath. Talented child artistes Saarthak Shenoy and Kumari Swathi Bhat from Mangaluru play the lead roles in this film. Bengaluru’s leading business tycoon and philanthropist Dr Dayananda Pai acted as Dayananda in a special appearance.



‘Apsara Dhara’ is the first Konkani film to be shot in Egypt and has few 3D shots also. The film is a highly motivational film for both children as well as parents highlighting the fact that there is no short cut for success.

Before the film even hits the theatres, it has already been selected this year’s 25th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) in children's film category and will be screened on November 14.
