Mangaluru: K'taka Rajyostava, Science exhibition held at St Aloysius College Higher Primary School

Mangaluru, Nov 1: November 1 marked a new date in the academic year of 2019–20 for St Aloysius College Higher Primary School celebrating 64th Karnataka Rajyotsava and hosting a Science exhibition at school level for the Primary students.

The dignitaries namely Grace Akshitha – The chief guest, Fr Gerald Furtado SJ – The correspondent, K Arvind – Vice-president of PTA and Philomena Lewis – The headmistress were escorted to the school auditorium.

The programme began by invoking God's blessings through a prayer song.



Welcoming of the guests was done by the students of Std II.

Prakash D'Souza introduced the chief guest. As a token of love, a sapling was presented to the chief guest by Dalmia. This was followed by a cultural programme presented by the students of std II.

As a mark of respect to the state, Nada Geethe was sung by the students.

The chief guest in her message briefed on the different features, history and current existence of Karnataka state and suggested that the students practice Kannada.

Fr Gerald Furtado SJ, addressed the gathering and spoke about the famous Indian developed state - Karnataka famous for its tourist attraction. The state has been blessed by various languages across the borders. He suggested that the students strive hard to make a better place for living.

Fr Gerald Furtado, also informed the gathering about the Science exhibition inaugural. He spoke on the latest developments on the moon among other developments and congratulated the teachers, parents and students for taking active participation in the Science exhibition, by displaying various forms of Science working models, charts.

The students from std I to VII displayed their various science projects on the display board, working models, charts that they prepared. Prior to the exhibition, a theme was given to the students for active participation. All the students were encouraged to participate in the exhibition.

The backbone of this exhibition was the headmistress. Chitra and Flavi D'Souza were the coordinators of the exhibition. The National Anthem was sung at the end of the programme.
