Mangaluru: SIT, Ziegler Aerospace UK sign MoU to develop aviation professionals

Mangaluru, Nov 1: The department of Aeronautical Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology (SIT) here, and Ziegler Aerospace, United Kingdom, officially signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MoU) by Dr A Srinivas Rao (pro-chancellor of Srinivas university, vice-president of Srinivas Group of Institutions, in the city, along with Naresh S Solipur (founder and CEO of Ziegler Aerospace) who chaired the MoU signing ceremony.

This MoU intensifies a close strategic understanding between Srinivas Institute of Technology (SIT) and Ziegler Aerospace (ZA) to establish and implement joint efforts to bridge the gap between industry and academia. The purpose of the MoU is to work together to develop high quality skilled professionals in the area of aviation industry.

The MoU ceremony began with a warm welcome by Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, (principal, SIT Mangaluru) who welcomed the Ziegler Aerospace delegation to SIT. He briefed them on the profile of SIT and the vision of transform society by imparting quality technical education to the students and train them as a competent professional manpower with ethical values to fulfill the needs of society and industry.

After the welcome address, Naresh S Solipur emphasized the vision of Ziegler Aerospace, design world-class curriculum capable of delivering high caliber aviation professionals required in the fast changing aviation marketplace. In his presentation, he discussed the challenges and 'Need of industry experience for Aeronautical Engineering students'.

Following the welcome address, Dr A Srinivas Rao, pro-chancellor and vice-president of Srinivas Group of Institutions, Mangaluru addressed the gathering focussing on the importance and need for such an MoU which is in tune with the quality policy of the group of institutions run by A Shama Rao Foundation and its commitment to value addition by imparting industrial knowledge to the students.

During the interaction with the students of Aeronautical Engineering, Naresh S Solipur presented his passion for aviation, his remarkable life experiences and inspiring journey as CEO of Ziegler Aerospace. He stressed on how Ziegler Aerospace is dedicated and focused on 'Not Merely training the students unlike others, but also imparting industrial experience through allowing students to work part-time on live industrial projects and transform them as high caliber experienced aviation professionals'.

To fulfill Ziegler Aerospace initiative and commitment, Naresh S Solipur presented Ziegler Aerospace employment ID cards to the fourth year Aeronautical Engineering students of SIT Mangaluru (Swathi P Shetty, Praveen Babu, Prasanna Kumar S and Steve Johnson Lobo) who worked as interns at Ziegler Aerospace Engineering office in Hyderabad.

Dr Ramakrishna N Hegde, HOD of Aeronautical Engineering, SIT and Mangaluru spoke about the journey of setting up the Centre of Excellence with Ziegler Aerospace and thanked the management of SIT, Mangaluru, Zeigler Aerospace Pvt Ltd and the gathering.

Centre of Excellence:

SIT Mangaluru and Ziegler Aerospace, Centre of Excellence was jointly inaugurated by Dr A Srinivas Rao (pro-chancellor and vice-president of Srinivas Group of Institutions, Mangaluru) and Naresh S Solipur.

The inauguration was witnessed by Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal, SIT, Mangaluru, Dr Ramakrishna N Hegde, head of the department of Aeronautical Engineering, SIT, Mangaluru, Deepak Kishanrao, associate corporate relations, Ziegler Aerospace, Prashanth, Aerospace engineer, Ziegler Aerospace, Dr Ajay, registrar development, Srinivas University, Dr Shivakumar G S, vice-principal, SIT, Mangaluru, Dr Ramakrishna Shabaraya, principal, Srinivas College of Pharmacy, HODs of all the departments, faculty and students.
