Moodbidri: Carmel School organizes vibrant annual Sports Day

Moodbidri, Nov 1: The much awaited annual Sports Day of Carmel School, here was held on Thursday October 31 with great zeal, excitement and pleasant atmosphere.

Chief guest, Joyline Muriel Lobo, an international athlete in triple jump was welcomed by the school band. The annual sports meet began by invoking God’s blessings. Sr Jyothi AC, the principal welcomed the chief guest and the other dignitaries.

The five distinctive groups namely water, creepers, flowers, stars, cloud and rain displayed a well co-ordinated march past. Joyline took the salute of the impressive march past of the students, coupled with some stirring marching musing by the band. The chief guest and other dignitaries hoisted the pride of the school, the school flag.



All the students witnessed the Olympic Torch relay which was displayed by the students in the spirit of sportsmanship.

The chief guest inaugurated the ‘Sports Meet of 2019-20’ by declaring it open. She encouraged the students to imbibe the true spirit of sports and games and wished them well. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the sports captain.

The students displayed their enthusiasm and energy throughout the day.

The day ended with a vote of thanks proposed by teacher Jayalakshmi who thanked the Lord Almighty and all those who were responsible to make this day a memorable one.
