Mangaluru: Kannada Rajyotsava celebrated at Expert PU College, Valachil

Mangaluru, Nov 2: Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated in the campus with great solemnity and opulence on Friday, November 1.

Principal Dr N K Vijayan Karippal unfurled the Kannada flag. Speaking on the occasion he opined that every Kannadiga must take pride in the rich cultural legacy of Karnataka. He added that we should uphold the unity and integrity of Karnataka as a state though different dialects are spoken in different regions of Karnataka.

Balakrishna Shetty, HOD of Chemistry speaking on the occasion urged the gathering to take pride in the legacy of great writers like Pampa and hold Kannada language and culture with high esteem.



Vidyasharada, lecturer in Kannada felt that our reverence to Kannada should not be limited to one day alone, but we should cherish it always.

Floral tributes were paid to Goddess Bhuvaneshwari by the student parliament members and staff members. Students presented Nadageethe in chorus. Ramesh sung Bhavageethe about Karnataka.

Raghavendra Shenoy, vice principal, Suresha K Edanadu, HOD of Kannada and all the members of the faculty and the students were present.

Swathi Bhat accorded a cordial welcome to the dignitaries, compered the programme and rendered vote of thanks.
