Air Traffic Restrictions Ahead of I-Day


New Delhi, Aug 11 (IANS): New Delhi's airspace will remain closed for two hours Wednesday and seven hours Aug 15 for the Independence Day celebrations, the Delhi airport operator said Tuesday.

Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), the airport developer which also operates the Indira Gandhi International Airport here, said the airspace would remain closed from 1 p.m to 3 p.m Wednesday for the rehearsal function for the Independence Day parade.

On the Independence Day, the airspace will remain closed from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

There would be no flight movements during this period, DIAL said in a statement
