Katy Perry's lavish desert getaway on her 35th birthday

Cairo, Nov 2 (IANS): Singer Katy Perry celebrated her 35th birthday by flying 64 of her closest friends to Egypt.

The singer, who turned a year older on October 25, marked the occasion with a fun-filled 10-day cruise down the River Nile, riding camels through the desert and enjoying the sunset over the pyramids, all of which was captured in a slew of social media photos, reports dailymail.co.uk.

Among the guests was her fiance Orlando Bloom, 42, who took to Instagram to share several photos from the outing including one of a romantic embrace with Perry with sunset behind him.

As Bloom also shared images overlooking the desert, he wrote that both Perry and his mother Sonia were celebrating their birthday together.

He captioned the images: "It's like looking out over the entire cosmos - Egyptian magic got my heart open to a download of love for my Scorpio's wonder women both celebrating their #birthday."
